Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance, Medicare, how mobile therapy works, and how to get started.

Roaming Rehab Physical Therapy accepts Traditional Medicare Part B. If you have a Medicare Advantage PPO plan, coverage is likely available and we run your insurance before your first visit. Medicare Advantage HMO plans typically do not cover out-of-network providers. For commercial insurance plans, we bill our private pay rate of $185 per visit and provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Call 303-720-4244 and we will verify your specific coverage before scheduling.

Colorado is a direct-access state, meaning many patients can begin physical therapy without a physician referral. We communicate and coordinate with your primary care physician, surgeon, or specialist throughout your care. Coverage for ongoing sessions may vary by insurance plan, and we will discuss this with you before your first visit.

Physical therapy is the treatment of injury, disease, or movement dysfunction through physical methods including exercise, manual therapy, and functional activity rather than drugs or surgery. Physical therapists are movement specialists who earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, a seven-year program that covers anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, and clinical practice. At Roaming Rehab Physical Therapy, our PTs bring that expertise directly to your home.

Occupational therapy focuses on helping people perform activities of daily living, commonly called ADLs, such as dressing, bathing, cooking, and managing medications. Our OTs also provide lymphedema therapy, home safety assessments, adaptive equipment recommendations, and energy conservation strategies. Roaming Rehab Physical Therapy's OT team includes a LANA board-certified lymphedema therapist and a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist.

Home health physical therapy is billed under Medicare Part A and typically follows a hospitalization. Patients must be homebound to qualify. Roaming Rehab Physical Therapy is a mobile outpatient provider billed under Medicare Part B. You do not need to be homebound and we can continue care for longer periods when medically necessary. We bring clinic-level care to your home. Home health helps you survive in the home. We help you thrive in your community.

Physical therapy is typically covered by insurance and requires a diagnosis or medical necessity. Wellness is proactive: it focuses on building and maintaining strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health before a problem develops. Our wellness program is private pay and does not require a referral or diagnosis. It is designed for motivated adults who want to stay strong, mobile, and independent as they age. See our wellness page for pricing and visit packages.

Preventative care focuses on what you can do to reduce the negative effects of aging and increase your resilience if something bad does happen. By consistently working on balance, strength, and overall function, you take an active role in your health rather than waiting for a problem to develop. Roaming Rehab Physical Therapy helps you build the physical reserves that keep you thriving, not just surviving.

Yes. Lymphatic massage is a wellness service delivered in your home by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. It is not typically covered by insurance, and we provide receipts if you would like to use HSA or FSA funds. See our lymphatic massage page for pricing and packages.
