What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy is defined by the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as exercise and activity rather than by drugs or surgery. Physical therapists are masters of movement and can help you unlock your body's potential. It takes about 7 years to obtain your Doctor of Physical Therapy degree where we learn the ins and outs of how your body works and how it pertains to activity. We are the only health profession that focuses purely on what happens when you move and how your body reacts to exercise. Function is our passion.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on helping people with their activities of daily living, commonly referred to as ADL's. Oftentimes this will include education and therapeutic interventions regarding fine motor exercises, energy conservation techniques, home modifications, incontinence therapy, and use of adaptive equipment. This helps make activities such as dressing, cooking, shopping, bathing, and toileting become easier for individuals to complete independently.
Luckily our amazing occupational therapist Josee is also a certified lymphedema therapist. Lymphedema therapy focuses on relieving swelling in the arms and legs by moving lymphatic fluid out of the affected limbs through manual lymphatic drainage techniques and compression therapy.

What is Wellness?
Wellness is the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal. Wellness is the pursuit of optimal functioning. The current state of our society is very reactive when it comes to health; when you get sick, you seek treatment. We hope to turn that around and be proactive. We focus on the state of being well and preserving it. We look at the whole person from a state of rehabilitation to a state of growth and prevention.
What is Preventative Care?
Optimal aging takes work. As one gets older, they don't need to pack it in and wait for mobility to wane. Preventative care focuses on what you can do to help decrease the negative effects of aging and comorbidities and increase your chances of recovery if something bad should happen to you. By continually working on your balance, strength, and overall function, you are taking an active role in aging and can put yourself on a path to truly enjoy your golden years. We aim to help you in that journey.
What is the difference between Mobile Outpatient therapy and Home Health therapy?
Home health physical therapy is billed under Medicare Part A while mobile outpatient physical therapy is billed under Medicare Part B. As an outpatient provider, we are open to seeing patients for a longer period of time if medically necessary. The patients we work with do NOT have to be homebound like they do in order to received home health services! We tend to look at it as home health helps you survive in the home while we help you thrive in your community.
